Canvas stands in for architecture at Bali Beach Glamping, a tented site on the beachfront at Tabanan, on the coast of Bali. The sand is dark and volcanic, the horizon lies open to the west, and the whole site is pitched rather than built, so the quarters and the wedding ground occupy the same stretch of shore. Taken exclusively for the wedding, the camp becomes a private coastline for the day. Ceremonies are held on the sand with the sea behind; the evening moves among lit canvas as the sun goes down over the water; and a bridal preparation tent with a dressing area is set aside within the site. The layout stretches along the shore rather than gathering into a single room, which is what lets a very large gathering spread out. Capacity is 200 and the site is listed from IDR 31,931,250. Because the tents are venue and lodging at once, the questions that matter early are how many tents the site holds, how many of the party can sleep on it, and what the arrangement is when the sea wind gets up — with the list of what is quoted apart from the site fee alongside them.
